After the release of 2019’s “Begin Again,” Norah Jones rounded up a selection of unreleased songs, which hung together well as a cohesive album in its own right – and which she released in 2020 as Pick Me Up Off The Floor. Produced by Jeff Tweedy of the acclaimed alt-country band Wilco, the album brings a twang of Americana to her trademark late-night jazz-pop sophistication, aided by the sweet swoon of Dan Iead’s pedal steel guitar. A top-notch band of jazz heavyweights including drummer Brian Blade and bassist John Patitucci make sure it’s smooth as silk from start to finish.
