Kendrick Scott
Born in Houston, Scott first began playing in church. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2002, and was soon playing with many respected jazz masters, such as Pat Metheny and Terrence Blanchard. In 2007 his group Kendrick Scott Oracle released their debut album “The Source” on his own label World Culture Music. That year, Scott was also a part of the Montreux Jazz Festival All-Star band for their 50th anniversary. His narratorial and spacious drumming and compositional style is perfectly showcased on his 2023 album “Corridors” on Blue Note, alongside Reuben Rogers and Walter Smith III.
