Robert Glasper (born 1978) is a pianist, producer, composer and a key figure in contemporary Black music. He is known for his extensive work in hip-hop and R&B.
Robert Glasper has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar, Bilal, Common, J Dilla and Jill Scott as well as jazz heavyweights such as Herbie Hancock, Terence Blanchard and Roy Hargrove. With his fusion of gospel, soulful and straight ahead jazz styles, Glasper is known as a truly genre fluid player. Glasper has released extensively with his two main bands: The Robert Glasper Trio, and the Robert Glasper Experiment.
